Displaying Images in Search Results: Is It Possible?

As lead support developer at PaperStreet, I receive questions from clients all day long. I was recently asked to upload an image so that it appeared alongside the search results on Google.

We hate telling clients that something isn’t possible, but this is … impossible. Because of recent algorithm changes in Google, they are no longer allowing images to show your Google authorship image next to search results.

According to Google, removing authorship images will have no impact on search results and click through behavior. Google’s John Mueller says that the decision came as part of an effort to “clean up the visual design of our search results,” and to “simplify the way authorship is shown in mobile and desktop search results.”
