Enterprise Website Design for Law Firms
Law firms and attorneys come to us to build their websites because we impress and get results. PaperStreet has been designing websites for more than 20 years. Our company has produced more than 1000+ web projects.
All things being equal, if the competition for engagements and talent were based solely on website content, then the challenge is to create a design that attracts and responds to both targets more effectively than the presentations your competitors make.
We Know What Works for Busy Law Firms
My name is Michelle Martinez-Reyes. I'm the CMO of Greenspoon MarderI've been working with Paper Street now for almost two years, and we've been utilizing them for a variety of services. Paper Street is great at I think client service more than anything, which is important to me. When you work for a national company, you spend a lot of time reorganizing and reprioritizing what you need to do and what needs to come first. Paper Street has operated pretty much as a partner and extension of my every day team. When I started at Greenspoon Marder and I started working with Paper Street, part of what I was tasked with was relaunching the brand of the firm. and I called upon Paper Street, I thought they were good at understanding the story. When I went to my Paper Street team, and I said listen, I want to come up with something that still fits into the traditional legal sector but it's just a little bit out of the box. I thought that they were really good at coming up with those concepts. It's very complicated to do that for a firm that has over 200 practitioners, which are all part of the process and it's very difficult to do that for a brand that has been known with a particular box, so to speak. Paper Street was very important to me in the sense of getting what was in my head and what's conceptual on paper, and then apart from paper, then making it virtual to create my website. Paper Street was great at coming up with the concepts to differentiate us from all other law firms, which is what the core of all marketing campaigns. Part of that was coming up with key taglines, key visual elements that were part of our advertising print and virtual campaigns and that's something that's not very easy to do. The fact that we've been able to do it together and adapt to it has been a phenomenal experience for me. I mean they're like my friends. They're like my family. I certainly don't treat them like they're one of my vendors.
As website developers, we all use essentially the same tools and code to create a website. A statement to the contrary is pure marketing hype. So why is there such a variation in proposal pricing from different vendors? Well, in a few words, it’s because of a perception that lawyers and law firms generate large profits. Vendors simply have been able to get away with scaling up their proposal pricing to "fit" the firm even though the actual development work involved is, for the most part, the same - regardless of whether the firm has 100 attorneys or 1,000, four practice groups or 40, 1,000 pages of content or 50,000.
PaperStreet does not scale our pricing. Instead we let our technology work for you. We have sustained our business model for more than 20 years because our clients tell us that we give them the best value for money spent. What sets PaperStreet apart from most is our attention to mobile scalability through responsive design principals, our unlimited award-winning design process and fair value for the services you are paying for.
We have encountered the same issues that you now face with hundreds of other firms and have successfully addressed them. Most firms that use our services have a good idea of how they want their website to look and we follow directions well - but we also provide insight. We caution against a design that ultimately may look "cool" and instead work toward one that communicates your firm’s competitive advantage in the marketplace.
From front-to-back the structure of most websites varies little – all have a unique home page, which is designed somewhat differently from interior pages. The interior pages are all templates – they provide "containers" for repeatable content. When the first one is designed, it gets applied to all others. On an attorney’s bio page, for example, there will always be a place for contact information, for relevant experience, representative clients, publications, presentations, etc. The layout may differ from site to site but the content choices are essentially the same.
It is the home page that sets the tone for the entire website. Yours must tell an impactful story. It should instantly express your competitive advantage. It has to deliver a "feeling" – the essence of what the firm does and how it differs from the other firms. Because the homepage element is so crucial to the success of a website project, we provide our clients with unlimited design. We keep designing and custom tailoring your website until you are happy and we do that for all the key pages on your website. You may find that many other vendors will limit the number of redesigns or the number of pages. We find this an unnecessary restriction.
Our designs offer users the same content experience regardless of the type of device the website will be viewed on – eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling. To see the difference for mobile devices, take a look at how the content of our websites scale down when you make a website window narrower. The content automatically resizes and adjusts to fit the window. This is known as "responsive design" and while other vendors may charge for its implementation, it is a standard feature with all our new websites at no additional cost.
