About Our Plus Web Design Process

At PaperStreet, we consistently work with law firms on their website redesigns and understand the need for a streamlined, efficient, and transparent approach. The process chart is useful for firms to fully understand our process from start to launch. We encourage you to review this handy step-by-step overview of our custom design process.

1. Project Planning (Kickoff & Discovery): We start every project with a kickoff call—key decision makers will be invited to meet the key PaperStreet team members who will delve into your firm’s objectives, target audience, and website preferences. During the kickoff phase, our team will gather your input on design preferences, branding, and desired site functionality. We will also discuss your site layout (architecture) and suggestions for a successful, user-friendly site.
2. Content Development: At PaperStreet, we start with content first. We have found that great websites start with great content. We will focus on clear, compelling messaging tailored to your clients and practice areas. Our first step is your home page content, where we set the stage for our design team to make magic. During this phase, we also fine-tune your site architecture to help plan for all pages on your site.
3. Custom Home Page Design: Once we have defined your home page content, we move to our design phase, when our designers create custom designs to match your firm’s branding and goals. Our team combines user experience best practices, discoveries from the kickoff call about the firm’s preferences and vision, as well as mobile responsiveness considerations, and unique branding. Our designers work hand in hand with firms, presenting the designs and refining them until the look feels just right.
4. Development: Upon design approval, our development team begins building the site. For our Plus sites, we custom-code the entire home page and ensure the interior pages match the look and feel of the home page. The result is a fast, secure, fully responsive website that functions seamlessly across mobile devices and various website browsers.
5. Quality Assurance: Our team performs a rigorous quality assurance check before we provide your testing link for review. We review all site elements to ensure they are functioning, including content, buttons, design, page speed, mobile layout, broken links, and ADA accessibility. We also double-check for setup, such as title tags and meta descriptions. Essentially, we ensure no page is left unturned and that every detail is examined to ensure launch-readiness.
6. Punch List (Testing Link): Once our team of talented developers finishes coding and preparing your new website, we will provide a testing link for review. During the testing link phase, your firm will have the opportunity to review the link and test for refinements. We work closely with your team to ensure everything is 100% accurate and polished.
7. Launch: This is the moment we have all been working so hard towards; when the site officially goes live! Our team carefully manages every aspect of the launch. We verify all functionality—forms, links, and responsiveness—works flawlessly on all devices. Whether your site is replacing an older version or launching for the first time, we ensure it’s fast, secure, and client-ready from day one.
