How to Create a Logo for Your Law Firm

Designing a logo doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Here at Paperstreet, we make creating a unique logo a simple and seamless experience that will ensure your law firm or business stands out in a crowd. Let’s discover our logo process in 5 easy steps:

A five-step process diagram showing: Define Your Brand Identity, Brainstorming & Exploration, Review Initial Logo Designs, Refine the Options, and Final Logo Delivery.

Step 1: Define Your Brand Identity

Through our very detailed logo project brief, our team begins the process of defining your brand. The project brief helps us to understand a little about what your company does and how we can create a memorable logo.

Step 2: Brainstorming & Exploration

We start by coming up with a visual strategy that includes researching design and color trends that match your brand.

Step 3: Designing the Elements of Your Logo

The goal in this phase is to take the items from the first two steps and start the creative process. We design 4 to 8 initial logo concepts (depending on your package), including options that vary in colors, fonts and styles.

Colors

Keeping in mind that some colors evoke different emotions and behaviors, we are very thoughtful about color combinations.

  • Green (health, eco-friendliness)
  • Blue (stability, safety)
  • Purple (quality, authenticity)
  • Red (activity, excitement)
  • Orange (energy, extroversion)
  • Yellow (optimism, friendliness)

Fonts for Your Logo

Typically our designs will showcase a variety of Serif (more traditional) and Sans Serif (modern) fonts. We find that most logos use a Sans Serif font because they are usually easier to read on both web and print.

Logo Types

From an abstract logo mark to a word mark, the structure of your logo plays a significant role in the design process.

  • Wordmark – Contains the full brand name and nothing else.
  • Pictorial – Only contains a symbol or icon.
  • Monogram – Contains only the initials or the first letter of a brand’s name.
  • Abstract – May contain only a geometric symbol or a combination of words and a symbol.

Step 4: Refine the Options

Once you have reviewed the initial concepts and narrowed down the options, the Paperstreet team will make changes based on client feedback. Things to consider when reviewing the logos:

  • Is this logo simple and Memorable?
  • Where will you use this logo?
  • Can this logo stand the test of time?

Step 5: Logo Delivery

Once your logo is approved, it officially becomes a part of your brand identity. We will provide you with the logo deliverables which includes a Style Guide (includes fonts, colors, etc), logo files to be used on web, emails and print materials. These files should be downloaded and saved for future use.
