One of the most frequent questions we get at PaperStreet is about the cost and process of creating a brand. “Brand” can encompass many different elements, and this article will serve as a guide to provide an overview of our pricing for branding, logos, brochures, and corporate identity services. Please note that this post contains starting prices in 2024 and may vary depending on the specific requirements of your project.

Core Branding Principles

  • Define Your Purpose: What is your company’s value? What do you stand for? What separates you from your competitors? What is your brand proposition? What problems do you solve for your clients? These will help you define your brand, and the exercise will help evaluate what should be a priority in your brand.
  • Understand Your Audience: What demographics make up your audience? What does your SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) look like? Understanding your value proposition and your audience’s demographics will help establish what your brand needs and how that should be reflected when designing it.
  • Competitors: When going through this process, it’s very important to analyze your competitors’ branding strategies. Identify the elements that make you different from them. See where they succeeded and fell short in delivering their value through their brand. You can learn a great deal from people who have gone through the process before, especially peers.
  • Unique Brand Identity: Your brand identity should be crafted from the visual elements (logo, colors, typography, symbols, imagery, taglines, and slogans). These elements need to reflect your company’s personality and purpose. They will all give your users a peek into what makes you unique and how you can best serve their needs.
  • Brand Message: When developing your message, slogan, or tagline, you need to tell a compelling story. This story should be short and poignant. People want to understand your purpose, values, and brand propositions. These messages should have a powerful and memorable delivery. Most importantly, they should resonate and last. Make sure it’s memorable.
  • Online Presence: It goes without saying, but once you have established a brand, ensure it’s consistent across all digital platforms. This includes your website, social media, newsletters, advertisements, and all offline efforts (TV, radio, billboards, signage, events, etc). Consistency is crucial in having a successful brand.
  • Analyze and Adapt: It’s very important to look at your brand regularly. How do our clients and users perceive it in the market? Does it still resonate with your message after 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years? Your brand should be an extension of your company values. Make sure it aligns as you build your business.
  • Protect Your Brand: As with all unique pieces of work, consider trademarking your brand. This helps protect from any infringement or fraud. Naturally, people will want to copy a powerful brand and message. Ensure your hard work is protected over time.

As such, the brand becomes more than just a logo, imagery, and words. It defines what makes your company unique and is an extension of your personality. It should provide insight into what it’s like working with you. The brand should reflect the reputation and prowess of the business. The ultimate goal is to have a memorable brand with just a word or symbol. Below are elements of a good brand.
