Ask Search engine removal from Mozilla. 1, use ADD & Remove as per normal then
2. Go to Mozilla tools, open options page , remove Ask which will be showing as the Home page ,and enter whatever you want. This worked for me

This for reminding me of this apache feature.

I have implemented it on my site for a particular folder and it works empirically but oddly when using the W3C Link checker, all pages in that folder still throw 404 Not Found. My quest for a solution to this continues...

silly question: where do we have to apply this on a wp-blog with a specific theme running the show? in the index.php of the theme-folder, or the <a href="http://www.homepage.com/index.php-url" target="_blank">www.homepage.com/index.php-url</a> referring to the theme?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much for this post. It is unbelievebale how hard it was to find out how to do this. I was googling for quite a bit before I came across your post. I had assumed it may havebeen something in about:config since there was no option in the standard setting but had no idea what the value would be to change.
